Hello to all my Highball Run8 Friends,

A little about myself is at hand I guess. First and foremost, Thank You to Everyone for accepting me into the Group. I can see I made a good decision coming here. I am retired after 8 years in the Private sector and 30 years of Public service with the City of Los Angeles.

My interest in the Railroads spans for more than 50+ years and yet I still consider myself a Student of the Trade. I started using Train Simulators around 1997 and then switched to Run8 in 2014. Run8 is everything I was wanting other simulators to be and yet I now realize that had it not been for the other simulators, Run8 wouldn't be what it is today. It truly amazes me how far Train Simulators have come in the last 20 years and what a fantastic job the Team at Run8 studio's has done with Run8.

I enjoy being with my Family, traveling with my Wife and model railroading, both tangible and virtual. I feel so fortunate to be where I am in my Life and to have available to me so many options to enjoy this great hobby of ours. Thank You to Everyone here for helping to make a dream come true.

Mel

Hey. I'm Darim. Easy to remember: Just think of "Dare Him" and ya got it. Anyways, I been around run8 a good time and know most of the "In's and Out's" of Run8. I have (as of this date) all of the Socal areas. I am well knowledge and experienced in Run8. I can run anything out there, tho I prefer Yard work and Dispatching more. Experiences in Run8: Road Trains, Crew, Yard, Local's, Hump, Trim, Consist assembly, and Dispatching. Have been a Yard Master (Barstow) as well as Dispatcher. Flexible, and can jump in anywhere I am needed. Areas I have dispatched and Yard Master: Barstow, Mojave, Cajon, BNSF Bakersfield, UP Bakersfield, and Fresno 9Bakersfield Sub Division). Still needing to learn more on San Bernadino and West Colton. I have also helped teach new comers various aspects of Run8.

So in a nutshell, this is who I am and my "Resume". Glad to meet you all. :D

P.S. I do have a Google Data Spreadsheet and can link it here for those that want to use it for Local's information. I also have a Youtube Channel.

Hello - just climbed on board today!

I am currently living in South Africa, and have spent of my life in and around Africa, though I may return to UK in due course. Married with 5 cats.

Indulged in MSTS and Train Simulator in the past, before giving up on the latter in disgust.

Bought Run8 about a year ago, but am still very very much a beginner. Have most of Socal and the rolling stock and looking at TSCAD as I like despatching.

Love Run8! Don't have state of the art kit, but things are manageable with the shadows turned off. Can run 3 screens though, which is nice. Also have a Raildriver, though for some reason at the moment I prefer the keyboard (when I can remember the myriad of key combinations!!).

Other hobbies include photography (trains, birds, wildlife and aeroplanes).

And paper models - one of my other loves!

I am also active in the Rail Heritage area and am now specialising in Rail Safety in relation to Heritage Operations. I also drafted a Heritage Rail Safety Standard and spent time assisting the national rail safety regulator.

And that's me! Feel free to ask if you have any questions!

New foamer here. I just learned about/got Run8 the other day and bought all of the add on packs. I've been a foamer for a long time but only recently been getting into how operations work. I'm going to start off with singleplayer and play around as I learn, but eventually I'd like to join multiplayer and learn more and be a part of the community, is there a way i can join and tag along with a more experienced engineer to learn the ropes, like as a conductor or something similar?

Hi everyone.

I'm Fentone, (Jonny in real life). I'm from the UK. I made an appearance last night (Saturday) on the server, and want to thank everyone for such a warm and patient welcome, and I hope I didn't cause too much chaos, careering around. I especially want to thank Justin for giving his time to providing me such an excellent tutorial session. Watching the wagons being humped into the yard with the sun setting while standing in game and watching in first person, all while having commentary from a real railwayman was a real peak experience for me, and I look forward to coming back soon (and next time I'll be a bit more disciplined in my procedures!)

Best wishes,
Fentone.

Hello Fentone! We are so glad you are enjoying the server. Remember there are no silly questions, as we have all been new to the game before. I'm honored to be able to have helped you yesterday, and I'm glad you saw it as a positive experience! Thank you for taking the time to want to learn and listen. I am confident that you will be up and running in no time! Welcome to Run8!

Highball!
